WHAT DO YOU FEED YER KITTEHS!?!

Dsc00060
That's a common question I hear from folks who remember Kei as a wee cutie-patooie. Erhm, he's not very wee anymore. But he's still the most affectionate kitteh I know. And he acts like the peacekeeper soldier in this madhouse.

This is Kei just about a moment ago, warming his ass on my keyboard. Actually, the lappie is pretty much his favourite perch of late - particularly when I'm trying to work. He then proceeds to shove his cute face in mine, which also means that not only can I not type on the keyboard, I can't read anything on the screen. Very insistent, this boy.

This is Akira, still a rascal like he always was. He winked because he knew I was taking his photo. Cheeky.

When the trains meet, a miracle will happen...

Do you believe in magic?

Synopsis of Kiseki 『奇跡』 / dir. Kore-eda Hirokazu (via Toronto International Film Festival)

Koichi (Koki Maeda) is twelve years old and endlessly curious about the world. He lives with his mother and maternal grandparents in Kagoshima, a city over which a massive volcano looms and regularly emits plumes of ash. Koichi’s little brother Ryunosuke (Ohshirô Maeda) resides in Hakata, where the children’s father (Joe Odagiri) plays guitar in a rock band. Koichi is a naturally cheerful kid, but deep down he’s distraught by his parents’ divorce. What he wishes for above all is that his family be brought together again. Upon hearing about a nearly completed bullet train line that will run between Kagoshima and Hakata, Koichi comes to believe that a miracle will transpire at the exact moment when the first two trains bound in opposite directions pass each other. So Koichi and Ryunosuke devise a plan: along with a few of their best friends, they travel to a town that lies equidistant from their two cities, a place where they can briefly reunite and, at the magic moment when the trains meet, make a wish that will surely come true.

Winner of the Best Script Award at the 59th San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain.

(I'm not sure if folks have seen other films by Kore-eda, but they're similarly playful yet gentle, and often with a heartbreaking background to the escapades. Can't wait to watch this one.)

Best 納豆 Nattou Packaging Ever

Found at the 九州 (Kyūshū) fair at Isetan Scotts:

Does this nattou, or should I say, nya-tou (にゃっとう) have anything to do with kittehs? No.

Did I succumb to random kitteh-whoring marketing tactics? Hell yeah.

Hello Ethan! Welcome to this world!

Meet my new nephew, Ethan, who sure took a long time to emerge and caused a wee panic this afternoon! <3

He's so precious.

The famous Joo Chiat Road bustop kitteh is awake today!

Dsc00053

The old sweetheart's usually snoozing away under the shelter benches like a boss! Doesn't give a toss that the bus stop may well be crowded - just goes on sleeping without a care in the world. This one's well sayang'ed by the pakciks & makciks around the area though. ^ _ ^

Tits and Ass on a Pictogram

Outrageofmodesty
So apparently, @darlingscarling and @spinsugar were waylaid by bashful NPCC boys on their way back from lunch. It seems that these boys had to walk them through some STAY SAFE brochure... and when they got to the part about how lasses can protect themselves from having their modesty outraged, they squirmed and did the "you say lah, no lah, you say" tai-chi. Sho-cuuuuute.

Anyways, I think the highlight of our day was breaking into hysterics in the office over the tits and ass on the lady-pictogram on the brochure. Of course she had to have tits and ass, just in case you don't understand why the man-pictogram reached over to investigate the fabric of her skirt. :P
